Most people were not into the wacky themes etc. They had become dated and the resort needed a fresh look to get people coming back to it after D-Land's attendance numbers dropped heavily in the 90s. I think the area looks much nicer now, but I still lament the loss of such signs. All good things must end, but hey, that's what our sites are for. A stroll down memory lane.Synthetrixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08735644870199153758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8439590856963938296.post-79703263118551123742007-05-23T16:54:00.000-07:002007-05-23T16:54:00.000-07:00Yes - What a shame that Anaheim couldn't have seen...Yes - What a shame that Anaheim couldn't have seen the benefit of sprucing up the area (burying the telephone poles and such) but retaining the unique and wonderful signage that was abundant around the park...walterworldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18319070921534941313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8439590856963938296.post-1940779037488620382007-05-22T17:03:00.000-07:002007-05-22T17:03:00.000-07:00It's nice to see a motel that has not been radical...It's nice to see a motel that has not been radically altered over the years. I guess that's because it's Merced and not Anaheim .Synthetrixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08735644870199153758noreply@blogger.com
